Version 4.2 of SplashTool is available for free until August 31, 2027!
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I started developing SplashTool out of curiosity. Back then, I never would have thought it would grow into an independent small software project that — alongside myself — helps engineers, scientists, students, surveyors, and various other people with heavy rainfall analysis. Five years after the first version, I look back with pride on my “baby” and am grateful for the feedback from you — my users!
A lot has changed in my personal life since the initial release: I married my wife and became a father to a little child in autumn 2025! After my wife took care of our child during the first year, I will be taking parental leave from September 2026 to September 2027 to look after our little one. During this time, I will also pause my freelance activities around SplashTool alongside my employment at DAHLEM.
A child is something special, and I am grateful that — with the support of my wife, my family, and my employer — I am able to take this step. To share a piece of my joy with you, you can use SplashTool 4.2 in the Anniversary Edition free of charge and with full functionality from now until the end of August 2027! Support requests during this period are only possible to a limited extent and without obligation; existing license agreements will be contribution-free during this time. You can download the Anniversary Edition right now in the download area.
I recommend all users to update to the new version.
What’s New
The handling of license information has been further improved. License data can now not only be provided by placing the license file in the installation directory, but can also be imported directly in the license dialog. The advantage: this allows the license to be updated without requiring administrator rights on the computer.
The validity of the license is now displayed in the log console every time the application starts.
In addition, as always, several program libraries have been updated to their latest versions.
